The mechanism is simpler than most people expect. Your television mounts to a bracket inside the footboard. Press the remote and the screen rises smoothly on a motorised lift; press it again and it lowers back inside, hidden completely.

Bear in mind those lengths include the footboard, so a TV bed sits longer than a standard frame of the same mattress size. Measure the full length of your room before ordering, and leave enough space at the foot to walk past comfortably. Your screen size. Our current lifts take televisions up to 50 inches. Measure diagonally across the screen itself, not including the bezel or stand.
Where the plug is. The bed needs a socket nearby for the lift motor and the television. It's easily solved, but better known now than on delivery day.
Your viewing angle. Sitting up against the headboard, the screen sits roughly level with your eyeline at the far end of the bed. Most people find that comfortable, though if you like to lie flat and watch, a slightly taller footboard is worth asking about.
